In 2008, Google Books scanned a copy of JD Denso’s 1751 German translation of Swedish scientist JG Wallerius’ 1747 treatise “Hydrologie, or the Water Kingdom.” The result, titled [presumably by OCR] Wohlgemeynte Gedanken über den Dannemarks-Gesundbrunnen, is a rare achievement of the scanner-based book arts, and is sure to become a classic in the nascent field of glitch studies.
